Hammond Drive Widening Project
On June 24th the Glenridge-Hammond Neighborhood Association will host a meeting at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church at 7:30pm regarding potential changes to Hammond Drive (A representative of the City of Sandy Springs has been invited to speak about the City’s perspectives and plans).
As many of you know the City hosted a meeting billed as the ‘Hammond Dr. Widening Project’ in mid April. The meeting was open to anyone and was primarily focused on having the participants complete a survey regarding the project. The survey is now closed . The results from the Hammond Drive Widening Survey are in.
To date, the City has made no effort to reach out to our neighborhood, for input regarding the road which runs through the heart of our neighborhood. The City has worked with the development community, Dekalb County and the PCID (Perimeter Center Improvement District) for more than a year and a half regarding various portions of Hammond Drive. You can see more of the story in a recent article in the Sandy Springs Reporter by John F. Schaffner on April 03, 2009.
