Our Story

Intersection at Roswell Road & Hammond Drive

Original Entrance to the Glenridge Forest Neighborhood

Looking North on Greenbrier Road
In 1915, Thomas Kearny “T.K.” Glenn
(co-founder of Georgia Power and a prominent Atlanta businessman) purchased approximately 400 acres of farmland in what is now northern Sandy Springs. This land became home to Glenridge Hall, a grand estate and working farm. Between 1957 and 1965, the surrounding property was gradually subdivided and developed into suburban neighborhoods, featuring primarily mid-20th century brick ranch-style homes.

Today, our vibrant community of around 500 homes is the result of two of those original neighborhoods coming together. Construction in Glenridge Forest - which includes Glenforest, Pinebrook, Timberlane, Greenbrier, Pauley, Patrick, and Brookgreen Roads - began in 1957, with the first families moving in that same year.
A few years later, homes were built on the western and northern sides of the area, forming what became known as Hammond Hills - encompassing all roads west of Garber Drive to Hildebrand Drive, as well as the homes north of Hammond Drive and south of Johnson Ferry Road.

Although linked by interior streets, the two neighborhoods operated independently until the late 1980s. Eventually, a unified neighborhood association was formed under the name Glenridge Forest–Hammond Hills Neighborhood Association. In 2019, the name was officially shortened and simplified to Glenridge Hammond to reflect the unity and shared identity of our community.

As your neighborhood association, it is both our duty and privilege to advocate on behalf of our residents and foster opportunities for connection. Our goal is to help Glenridge Hammond remain the kind of place families dream of raising their children - just as they did more than sixty years ago. A safe, welcoming, and generous place where neighbors look out for one another and lasting friendships are made.
